Dairy Reports

A lovely entry forward today which included the youngstock dispersal on behalf of Jim Furness of Bakewell met a swift trade with the 80 head of youngstock averaged a superb £734.

Undeterred by the supposed "beast from the east" the herd dispersal went ahead as planned at Leek on Tuesday and thanks must be expressed to all that made it happen.

A fantastic trade at the monthly pedigree sale at Leek saw plenty of both cows and heifers £1800 plus despite limited quality on offer.

A lovely herd of cows from James Woodward and family of Mapperley, Derbyshire drew a strong crowd of buyers with trade topping at £2150 with others to £2040, £2000 and £1960.

A good show of quality dairy cattle in today and a solid trade throughout.
