A good day at Leek Market following the wintery weekend. The Pedigree Dairy Sale saw a nice entry forward to a top of £2180 for a fresh heifer from James Harrison of Cheadle.

There were 19 cattle on offer, with a good company of buyers and vendors were well pleased with the prices achieved comparing favourably with the usual weekly market.

A busy dairy shed with the dispersal on behalf of Blaze Farm Partners seeing a good ring full of buyers achieving up to £1710, with freshly calved heifers in the commercial section achieving £1740 for D Steeples of Northants.

A busier day now the cold weather has passed with a brilliant entry of 267 calves today, selling to £435 for Blue bull calves and £408 for Blue heifers.

A wintery day here at Leek on Tuesday but that didn't deter the dairy section with the Dispersal of a lovely herd from N H Gaunt & Sons with 214 forward selling well, and topping at £1860, along with a good show of buyers around the ring.
