Calves a little short on numbers with the buyers left wanting more, seeing £428 for a Limousin bull and £345 for a British Blue heifer.

Simply off the clock, quite possibly the dearest they have ever been!!!! No fat pigs under 200p/kg. The averages very much speak for themselves, with 94 head forward and quality in abundance. Top price for fats 240p twice or £237.66/head. Only one saddleback sow sold to 149p or £348.66.
Porkers topped at 235p from G&M Pawson, Lymn. TJ Nicholls saw pigs to 230p and 219p. J Ball Sandbach to 229p and B Minshull to 227p.
Cutters sold to 240p from D Goldstraw, B Minshull to 238p, 234p and 225p. J&B Fentem to 238p x2, 228p x2, 227p. C Hine to 232p, RA Hughes to 226p.

Only a handful of heavy pigs but quality pigs nonetheless topping at 208p from J Ball and RA Hughes to 206p.

A blistering trade on Tuesday for dairies saw the entire entry average £2228 with a top of £3320.
Three superb heifers from the Brassington Family of Calf Heath, Wolverhampton, all giving 36-37kg, justly topped the day, all clinched by Andrew Hulme of Basford for £3320, £2940 and £3100 consecutively, to average an amazing £3120.
A tremendous run of five second calvers from the Easom Family of Oakerthorpe peaked at £2540 twice over with all five averaging £2284.
The dairy shed will be full next week with the herd Dispersal on behalf of the Davenport Family where there is a lot of summer milk on offer. Mick Hulse of Consall already has six fresh calvers entered so good numbers in the commercial section also expected.

Big lambs well bid for, up to 354p/kg for heavies and 330p/kg for overweight. Top headage of £184.80 and heavies averaging £152/head.
More could be sold each week.
