Less sheep around today but a good trade seen throughout with the best lambs selling to 429p/kg and ewes topping at £224

Dairies sold to £2850 for a nice milker with a heifer topping at £2220

Calves still in demand with two British Blue bulls topping at £750 and the British Blues again topping the heifers at £590

Less pigs around today with best fats to 220p/kg

A fast trade in the barrens today seeing a top price of 280p/kg for a Friesian cow weighing 550kg from DR & A Shuker of Macclesfield, achieving a gross of £1540.

A 650kg Simmental from JM Robinson of Swythamley achieved 278p/kg to a gross of £1807/head.

A Holstein weighing 670kg sold to 268p/kg to achieve a gross of £1795 for TE & DJ Woolliscroft of Rudyard.

Less pigs forward today but a strong entry in terms of quality. Best fat pigs to 220p and sows to 90p. Gilts 190-205p, boars 160-175p.

Porkers a solid trade with hog roast season in full swing, selling to 220p and 194p for J Davenport, Gawsworth.

Cutters sold to 200p for J&B Fentem who had others to 196p, 194p, 192p, 167p, 165p. R Stubbs 170p.

Bacon pigs sold to 201px2 for Massie Farms who had others to 198p, 197p, 195p, 194p. PJ Saunders sold to 197p, J&B Fentem to 196p, C Hine to 196p, 193p.

Clean gilts to 120p or £228 from PJ Saunders and 110p or £180.40 from AW&RA Mycock.

Cull Boars to 78p for PJ Saunders and 67p for AW & RA Mycock.

Cull sows sold to 90p for P Yates, Yoxhall, 76p for C Hine, RA Watson to 75p.

Dairies to £2850
A nice entry of milkers on Tuesday saw the best reach £2850 for a really stylish second calver from the Easom family of Oakerthorpe.

A heifer from the same home reached £2220. Their entry of six averaged an excellent £2228.

Other heifers from Edward and Dianne Bennett reached £2260.

A smashing Shorthorn second calver from the Howe family if Tideswell reached £1980.

In-calf heifers sold on a strong trade, topping at £1760 for an Ayrshire heifer, due in August.

Weaned New Zealand Friesian calves from Whetstone Pastures Dairy sold to £290.
