A scorching trade for milkers on Tuesday saw a top of £3000, the highest price reached this year and 9 pass the £2000 mark.
Catching the eye of many was a beautiful second calver Broomhouse Agronaut Koo from the Easom family of Oakerthorpe. By Mr Rubi-Agronaut she had given just over 8000kg as a heifer. Sold giving 44kg she was finally clinched by Bill Bradbury of Earl Sterndale for £3000.
Another from the same home, a heifer Broomhouse Victor Pearl by Glamour Boghill Victor reached £2440. She too went to Messrs Bradbury. The Easoms had two others reach £2340 and £2300. The first a heifer went to Messrs Truman of Melton Mowbray and the second, a second calver to Andrew Hulme of Basford.
Andrew Weston of Litton had a heifer to £2420. By Peak Altarecoil she was giving 28kg and went to Messrs Truman of Melton Mowbray.
The same purchaser also took home two of Ray Turners heifers of Rownall at £2320 and £2260.
All milkers averaged a superb £1517.
British Friesian In-calf heifers from Messrs Creswell of Atlow topped at £1920 to average £1624 with heifer calves to £370.
