Not a single standing or pen left in the dairy shed on Tuesday which saw 58 commercial milkers sold along with 3 In-calf heifers, 17 Youngstock, a stock bull and a herd dispersal.

Trade for 1st quality remains strong with consignments of some exceptional cows from the Broomhouse and Braemarhouse Herds topping the day.

Two second calvers from the Easoms Broomhouse Herd both passed the £2000 mark. The first a really superb cow giving 40kg reached £2340 with the second at £2060.
A third calver from the Braemarhouse Herd of Messrs Mellor reached £2240 with a second calver from the same home at £2160.

Heifers topped at £2000 from John Chamberlain of Marston Montgomery. A beautiful pedigree Shorthorn from Andrew Tunnicliffe made £1800.

Trade for second and third quality is starting to ease but overall can certainly be described as solid.

Next week we have the herd dispersal of 50 milkers on behalf of Terry and Rose Beardmore of Leasow Partners, due to ill health and 50 pedigree youngstock (3-14mths) from the high yielding Briley Herd of Messrs Brittlebank.
Catalogues will be on-line shortly.
