A superb entry of 52 milkers forward on Tuesday along with 5 calves met a solid trade for both heifers and cows with 3 passing the £2000 mark.
Topping the day at £2090 was a superb cow from the Giles family of Bradnop for a third calver giving 50kg. Their entry of 8 saw 3 other third and fourth calvers in excess of £1700 to average £1646 for the group which were all in their 3rd-5th lactations.
Heifers topped at £2070 for a 27kg heifer from Richard Lomas of Calow with another from the same home at £2010. British Friesian heifers reached £1780 with British Friesian cows making £1710 from John and Leslie Kirby of Oakham. A lovely run of 4 Dairy Shorthorn heifers from Gary Norbury topped at £270.
