Dairy trade continues to go from strength to strength with very few animals selling below £1700 despite the superb silaging weather and a mixed quality on offer.
John Stone of Onecote saw three of his four heifers pass the £2000 mark with British Friesians from Messrs Seabridge of Sandon over £1800. More numbers are needed to satisfy demand. Good entries are already forward for next weeks pedigree sale.
The catalogue will be online later in the week but it still no to late to get stock entered. Contact Meg Elliott on 07967 007049.

SPRING LAMBS (561);
A much increased entry, although over all less quality and a much higher proportion of ‘rushed’ lambs forward lacking the required finish and weight.
Trade significantly back on the week but well inline with other outlets, with the best types still very well bid for topping at 348p/kg and still plenty at 330p/kg and better. Top headage price of £171.72.
Overall average back at 301p/kg which is mostly due to the national trend, and partly due to the reduced quality on the week.
Thank you for your continued support! Please keep numbers coming!
