A good turnout of dairies seeing heifers to £2250 and cows to £2130.
Barren cows still in good demand with plenty of buyers around the ring, seeing a top price of 183p/kg or £1377.60.
Pigs a little back on the week, but prices still decent seeing a top of 168p/kg or £150.42.
More buyers this week for calves seeing a lift in price generally. The best up to £415 for a British Blue bull and heifers to £288.

A good early month entry with several bigger runs of cattle from the Howe family and David Brailsford of Ashover.
Top of the day £2250 for a smart Pedigree Holstein heifer from Phillip & Marilyn Critchlow of Cubley sold giving 31kg.
Mark Shepherd from Birchills at Hassop topped the cows with a June calve Pedigree 2nd Calver sold giving 49kg at £2130.
Trade was very bouncy from start to finish with a run of second and third calves Friesian type cows from the Howe family topping at £1800 and two more at £1700. Several purchasers bidding strongly but leaving for home having not fulfilled their orders.
In the youngstock a sweet run from Roger Cooke of Woodseaves saw August 2021 maiden heifers to £670 and £610 and Norwegian Red x maiden heifers to £635.

Another good turnout of fat pigs this week but prices slightly back on the week. Pork pigs topped at 168p/kg for 73kg pigs from David Goldstraw, Meerbrook, who also sold a 41kg pig at 124p/kg.
Cutters sold up to 168p/kg for 76kg pigs from David Goldstraw, with Massie Farms selling a run of cutting pigs at 149p/kg, 148p/kg twice, 146p/kg twice and 144p/kg x4. They also topped the day with bacon pigs to 152p/kg for 86kg pigs and 144p/kg for 87kg pigs. 145p/kg achieved for 90kg pigs from Bernard Minshull and 132p/kg for 91kg pigs from S Bailey, Biddulph.
Heavies sold up to 140p/kg for a 105kg pig from S Bailey and 138p/kg for a 109kg pig from J & B Fentem.
Sows topped at 70p/kg for a 210kg sow from Bernard Minshull, who also sold a 198kg sow for 63p/kg.
