Lambs off the clock, selling to 452p/kg or £253.12/head. Overall average 396.63p/kg or £175.41/head.

Cull ewes topped at £262/head for Charolais.

Pigs slightly less on the week topped at 190p/kg 

Plenty of buyers in the calf shed, seeing an increase in prices with a British Blue Bull topping at £430 and a British Blue Heifer achieving £400.

Barrens sold to 200p for a 650kg Angus or £1458 for a 815kg Holstein.

A much-reduced entry of barrens today topped at 200p for a 650kg Angus cow.  Top headage £1458 for a 815kg Holstein.

Pigs a touch back on the week, quality perhaps less as well on the day. Top price 190p for fats. Sows to 60p.

Cutters topped at 182p for JLR Ball, Sandbach who had others to 175p. PJ Saunders sold to 182p.

Baconers topped at 190p from C Hine who had others to 183p. B Minshull saw 185p. J&B Fentem sold to 180p, 176, 175, 173, 172.

Heavies topped at 135p for PJ Saunders and 128p for J Lews, Foston.

Sows topped at 60p for J Lewis and 58p. PJ Saunders to 58p.

A mixed quality forward met  mixed trade with heifers topping at £1780 for a 29kg heifer from David Brailsford of Chesterfield.

Calves topped at £250 from Trevor and Pat Swinson of Caverswall.

Trade on the up with a big gathering of potential buyers coupled with better orders from the regulars led to increased prices.

All sizes and shapes represented but better money for all, particularly for the second-grade calves. Two super sorts topped £400 with the better sorts generally £360-£390, mediums £250-£310 with the smaller bulls under £250.
