Calves keep selling on an excellent trade with prices dearer than we have seen before.

A short supply and another very firm trade up to 190p/kg for a 575kg Holstein cow for PN Holdcroft with the same vendor selling a 540kg Friesian for 189p/kg and the heaviest cow of the day being an 825kg Holstein, for WE Turnock & Son, achieving 187p/kg.
A Montbeliarde, weighing 595kg sold for 185p/kg from EB & BM Sutton and a 530kg Flekvieh for J Haynes achieved 185p/kg also.
The lowest price was 157p/kg.
Top headage price £1542.75.
CLEAN CATTLE
A 495kg Hereford heifer, from AM & JE Kirby of Rutland, sold for 239p/kg to gross £1183.05.

Cutters topped at 208p from DB Goldstraw who had others to 205p. S Bailey to 197p. J&B Fentem 197p, 196p, 193p, 190p.
Bacon Pigs topped at 200p from PF&PD Parsons who had others to 199p x2, 197p. DB Goldstraw to 196p and JA&B Minshull to 190p.
Heavies topped at 180p from JA&B Minshull and 172p from J&B Fentem.
