* 106 Milkers * Top of £3520 *
* 12 Over £3000 *
Another very swift trade for milkers at Leek saw 106 pass through the ring to top at £3500, with 12 passing the £3000 mark.
Leading the day at £3500 was a beautiful heifer from the Sternmoor Herd of Michael & Caroline Wainwright. By Roman she went to a regular purchaser.
Hot in pursuit was an unregistered heifer by Terra-Linda Parf Rox from the Weston family of Roston at £3420. They also had a second heifer to £3400 by the same bull.
The Shepherd family of Bakewell saw their AOT Hampshire daughter reach £3400.
In-calf heifers topped at £2680 from Richard Lomas of Calow, with crossbred In-calf heifers from Michael & Kay Hulse reaching £2620.
Bulling heifers were very dear with a bunch from the Cubley herd of Messrs Critchlow keenly sought topping at £1340. A lovely Swedish Red X calf from the Myatts of Blythe Bridge made £470.
Another very successful day, much appreciation to both vendors and purchasers. If you have stock to sell get in touch!

LAMBS (695)
A reasonable entry in terms of numbers but very poor show in terms of best quality and best fed lambs. Plenty of demand for best fed types with orders going home empty or underprovided.
Best sorts flying away to 376p/kg and plenty at 350p/kg and better. Big lambs again a good trade providing they are well fleshed to top at £200.97/head with plenty at £180 and better.
Overall average at 314p/kg is not a fair reflection on trade with a poorer show of sheep forward.
More well fleshed lambs needed to meet demand!!!
