A 540kg Dairy Shorthorn sold to 287p/kg to gross £1549.80 for W & S Waters & Son of Upper Hulme.

All Milkers £2000+
Another scorching trade for milkers on Tuesday saw every last one pass £2000 topping at £3650 for cows and £3600 for heifers.
Heading the day was a second calver from the Flowers family of Friden. By OCD Chronicle, she had given 11349kg as a heifer. Sold giving 50kg she went to a local purchaser at £3650.
Heifers peaked at £3600 for a Drouncer K & L Chase daughter from the Shepherd family of Bakewell. Giving 33kg she went to Messrs Hulme of Basford.
The Mellor family had a lovely run of five second calvers and one heifer to top at £3500 and average £3150.
In-calf heifers topped at £2850 from David Tomlinson of Ford.
In all, eleven passed the £3000 mark, with everything averaging £2690.

An increased entry and trade very pleasing compared to other reports, with competitive bidding throughout.
Best lambs still very well bid for to a top of 430p/kg and plenty still at 390p – 420p/kg. Best heavy lambs to £243.57/head and leaner grass-fed sorts generally 340p – 350p/kg.
Overall averages looking good at 369p/kg or £158.50/head to include plenty of light weight under done types.
