MILKERS TO £3700
HERD DISPERSAL TO £2900
A bouncy trade throughout for milkers on Tuesday saw the commercial entry top at £3700 for a lovely 27kg heifer from Michael and Caroline Wainwright of Buxton, with others to £2650 and £2480.
A big crowd gathered for the herd dispersal on behalf of Tim Ottewell of Belper which peaked at £2900 for a July calved Fleckvieh X heifer giving 24kg. Another also calved July giving 26kg made £2680. A cow calved in June reached £2600.

A seasonal entry sold on a very firm trade improved on the week and so was the general quality of the goods on offer.
Best lambs very well bid for to a top of 380p/kg and plenty at 350p – 370p/kg.
Big lambs very good to sell with a top headage of £198/head from James Swindells.
Overall average at 323p/kg which still includes plenty going for further feeding.

Wow, what a price with the top twenty-three over £700 including five British blues over £800 and up to £920 for a 20-day old from Furness Partners, Wheston.
