The trade in the Dairy shed was off the scale with a top price of the day being £3500 for a good-looking heifer with five hitting over the £3000 mark!
A bumper trade in the pigs for all types with more needed to satisfy the buyer’s
needs.
126 Calves on offer with a good number of buyers around the ring. Top price paid for a British Blue bull was an amazing £534 and a British Blue Heifer topping at £392.

A short entry due to the Bank Holiday.
There was plenty of trade and buyers around the ring, seeing a top price of 220p for a 695kg Holstein from WE Turnock & Sons of Onecote, which also achieved the top headage price of the day with a very pleasing £1529.00.

CLEAN CATTLE
A well finished 510kg Hereford heifer, from AM & JE Kirby of Rutland, sold up to 268p/kg which also achieved the top headage price of the day with a pleasing £1366.80.
A 425kg Hereford heifer, from GE Whitfield of Audley, sold for 188p/kg and a Charolais bull, from GR Weston of Longsdon achieved 208p/kg or £1071.20/head.

A bumper trade for all types today, many more pigs could have been sold to the vendor’s advantage.
Top price for fat pigs 242p or £238.96. Sows topped at 158p, or £348.89, Best gilts are 230p+ and boars 10-15p less.
Porkers a flying trade topping at 236p from J&B Fentem. J Sheard sold to 231p and boars to 215p from J&B Fentem.
Cutters sold to 242p for Pietrain gilts from B Vernon, J&B Fentem to 238p, 237p x2. PF+PD Parsons to 234p, J Shaeard to 234p, S Bailey to 233p.
Bacon pigs sold to 238p for Massie Farms who had others to 237p, 236p x2. PF+PD Parsons to 235p, 234p, 232p. C Hine to 233p, Tommy Nicholls to 232p, B Minshull to 231p.
Only one heavy for PF+PD Parsons for a 110kg boar sold to 202p.
Sows sold on a flyer topping at 158p from J Sheard, A worth to 139p and 135p and Chatsworth House a Gloucester to 94p. A single cull boar sold to 40p from J Sheard. Top headage £348.89

Trade for milkers can only be described as poisonous with the average up £75 on the previous week to £2470 and topping at £3500.
A cracking heifer from the Brassington Family of Wolverhampton topped at £3500 to Andrew Neville of Tansley, who also took a second from the same home at £3400.
A very pretty heifer from Frank Cookson of Little Bollington reached £2300, also to A Neville.
The Phillips Family of Winkhill saw their 30kg heifer reach £3120 to Nigel Moss of Meerbrook who also clinched Martin Riley’s neat heifer at £3050.
