DAIRIES TO £3220
Trade for milkers is holding despite the continued warm weather topping at £3220 for fresh heifer from the Hadfield family of Peak Forest. Close behind at £3200 was a stylish heifer from Michael and Caroline Wainwright of Buxton. They had a second at £2280.
Regular vendors, the Kennerley family of Betley had a heifer to £2650 with others to £2400 from Ruth Millington of Brereton and £2180 from Messrs Phillips of Waterhouses.
A group of 4 calves from Nigel Moss of Meerbrook sold exceptionally well peaking at £560 to average £490.

A solid entry selling on much reduced rates compared to last week as is the story nationally, however, competitive bidding throughout ensured a solid trade on the day.
Best lambs still well bid for to top at 352p/kg and better sorts generally 340p and better.
Heavy lambs still good to sell to a top of £198.83 and more big lambs could have been sold to vendor’s advantage.
A number of grass-fed lambs in the entry and these selling at 280p – 305p/kg depending on type and finish.
Overall average at 317p/kg or £141/head.
