Pigs were a flying trade, with 115 forward and the best over 200p/kg up to 220p/kg three times and £215 per head.

A super trade for barrens with more required each week!! Top price of 218p/kg for a 780kg Limousin cow from EJ & DC kidd, Flash with a 605kg Beef Shorthorn at 203p/kg for G G Hall & Son who sold another 595kg Beef Shorthorn for 192p/kg.
A 710kg Limousin reaslied 200p/kg for Des Alcock, Elkstones and a 485kg British Blue cow sold for 194p/kg from A J Bayley, North Rode.
A 500kg Angus sold for 190p/kg from NG & P Sidebottom, Marple, and a 730kg Charolais sold for 178p/kg from MJ, C & P Reeves, Ipstones.
Friesians topped at 183p/kg for a 725kg cow from J W Brandrick & Son, Beamhurst.
Overall average of 172.85p/kg or £1047.76 per head.
Top headage price of £1700.40 and £1420 for Limousins, Friesians to £1326.75, Charolais’ to £1299.40, Beef Shorthorns to £1228.15.

Trade on FIRE for fats pigs topping at 220p/kg x3 averages above 200p/kg, top headage £215. Good to see a consistent show of pigs and the trade to match at Leek each week. 115 pigs sold today.
Fat Pigs
Porkers topped at 212p/kg for a 64 kg pigs from C Blackshaw, others from the same home to 206p/kg and 202p/kg.
Less cutters on offer today but nonetheless an excellent trade topping at 213p/kg twice from J&B Fentem for 85kg & 81kg pigs and 207p/kg for 81kg pigs. C Blackshaw saw 212p/kg for a 76kg pig.
Baconers were once again sort after, topping at 220p/kg x3 from Massie Farms, Stafford for 96kg pigs. Others from the same home to 219p/kg, 218p/kg, 217p/kg, 216p/kg & 215p/kg. B Minshull, Buxton saw 219p/kg for 93kg pigs and S Bailey, Knypersley had 87kg pigs to 216p/kg.
Heavies topped at 184p/kg for a 114kg pig from M R Banham, Bromsgrove. J&B Fentem saw 178p/kg for a 113kg pig.

One sow realised 56p/kg from RA Watson for a 306kg pig.

A stylish heifer from John Stone of Onecote topped the day on Tuesday at £2080 with another heifer from the Darwin family of Oxspring, Sheffield close behind at £2020.
A great group of In-calf heifers also from the Darwins topped at £1700 with bulling heifers from the Shirts reaching £1180.
Strong entries already forward for next weeks pedigree sale which also includes a special entry of Shorthorns comprising Milkers, In-calf Heifers and Youngstock.
