Store Lambs
There were 4,962 store lambs, including a number of long term, smaller sorts seeing a very firm trade throughout with a number of new buyers in attendance looking for store lambs, resulting in an excellent average of £105 per head, an increase of approximately £10 on the last sale.
Strong lambs were particularly well sold, up to £152.50 for Beltex lambs from R Challinor of Dilhorne with Texels, from Mrs Mottram of Uttoxeter at £147.50 and other Beltex up to £142.50. Other Texelssold up to £142, from Steve Beresford of Wildboarclough with a number of other Texel over £130 per head.
Mule wether lambs, from Geoff Wain of Brandside, sold up to £136.50 with.a pen from JM Cottrill & Sons of Bamford at £99.
Charollais lambs, from MW Woodward of Whiston, achieved up to £131.00 and £126.00 from R Bassett & Son.
Suffolk lambs, from R Bassett & Son topped at £127.00 and £124 from Alan Hayes of Alstonefield.
Dorset lambs, from CJ & MJ Campbell of Hilderstone, sold up to £109.50 with Oxford X lambs, from R & M Phillips & Sons of Buxton, at £108.
Lleyn lambs, from SW Edwards of Bottomhouse, topped at £98.

Breeding Rams
There were 28 breeding rams on offer with plenty of farmers looking for replacement rams with a total clearance up to £520, from R Bassett & Son, for Texel shearlings with others at £500 and £480.
Suffolk shearling rams achieved up to £420 from R Bassett & Son (twice) and Charollais shearlings reached £320.
Suffolk shearling rams for Mrs June Sherratt topped at £400 (3 times).
Ewe Lambs & Shearlings
These sold up to £143 for Texel ewe lambs from LR & MJ Lowe of Hulme End.
Shearling ewe, from P Kirkham & I C Bourne sold up to £200 for Border Leicester, with Texels up to £195 for LR & MJ Lowe and Aberfields up to £182 for TE Walker & Sons.
