Breeding Section
A Holstein cow with a Hereford x heifer calf sold to £2020 for D J Gregory of Drointon, a Hereford cow with a British Blue bull calf sold to £1610 for CD, JI & NM Gabbott of Rainow and a Dexter cow with a with a Dexter calf sold to £675 for KC Parker of Streethay.
A Limousin suckler cow sold to £1565 for D & J Bradbury of Ipstones.
Young Bulls
An 18-month-old Hereford bull sold to £1590 for S Moss of Glossop.
Steers
251 steers were on offer, seeing some excellent prices achieved.
A run of four Herefords at 24-25 months of age sold to £2500, £2490, £2480 and £2390 for D J Edge of Lach Dennis.
A pair of 25-month-old Limousin from J Jervis of Cheadle sold to £2420 and a pair of 16-month-old Limousin sold to a very pleasing £2120 and £1990 for PT Chadfield of Marston Montgomery.
A 27-month-old Montbeliarde steer sold to £2045 for R C Salt of Waterhouses.
Aberdeen Angus at 28 months old sold to £1980 for D & EA Jeffery of Roston and a 21-month-old Aberdeen Angus sold to £1780 for DH Jones of Holmes Chapel.
Holstein steers at 20 months old sold to £1960 for The Red Lion Inn Ltd of Stone for a bunch of three.
A bunch of three British Blue’s topped at £1790 for WG Latham of Weston on Trent.
A British Blue at 14 months of age sold particularly well at £1760 for D Machin of Rudyard who also sold another pair at 14 months old to £1695.
A bunch of six Friesian steers sold to £1655 at 25 months of age for J & W Knight of Horton.
The younger cattle sold to £1440 for a pair of 12-month-old Limousin for D & V Farms Ltd of Rushton Spencer who also had a Limousin at 9 months of age to £1300.
Three 12-month-old Herefords sold to ££1340 for E Morley & Sons of Kirk Langley who also had a bunch of six Aberdeen Angus at 11 months old to £1230.
The overall average for steers was £1281.26.
Heifers
138 heifers were on offer with a Limousin topping the day at £2180 at 24 months old from J Jervis of Cheadle, C A Lymer of Cheddleton sold a 30-month-old Limousin to £1990 and a 26-month-old Limousin to £1970. A 15-month-old Limousin sold to £1680 for D Machin of Rudyard.
J E Carr of Cheddleton sold a pair of British Blue heifers to £1980 at 26 months old with another pair of the same age selling to £1885. Beechcliffe Farm Partners sold a pair of 25-month-old British Blue to £1875.
A 50-month-old Aberdeen Angus sold to £1770 for D & EA Jeffery of Roston and a bunch of five Aberdeen Angus heifers at 21 months old sold to £1760 for DH Jones of Holmes Chapel.
A Holstein heifer topped at £1650 at 23 months old for B & KA Fallows of Cheadle.
A Pair of 30-month-old Hereford heifers from D & EA Jeffery of Roston sold to £1510 and a pair of Belted Galloway at 26 months of age sold to £1350 from S B Wilde of Quarnford.
Younger cattle sold to £1150 for a bunch of seven Aberdeen Angus at 12 months old for E Morley & Sons of Kirk Langley, D & V Farms Ltd of Rushton Spencer sold a pair of 12-month-old Limousin heifers to £1080 and a pair of British Blue heifers at 11 months old sold to £1070 for E Morley & Sons of Kirk Langley. A bunch of four Longhorn heifers at 13 months old sold to £1050 for B & KA Fallows of Cheadle.
The overall average for Heifers was a pleasing £1278.93
