Breeding Section
A Hereford cow with a Hereford heifer calf sold to £1750 for M Timperely of Mottram with another Hereford with a Limousin heifer calf achieved £1280 for AS & EL Heathcote of Rainow.
A British Blue cow with a Limousin heifer calf sold to £1630 for Linda Wright of Hartington and a British Blue suckler cow achieved £1760 for G Jones of Sutton.
Limousin breeding heifers topped at £1780 for Linda Wright of Hartington with three Blonde breeding heifers achieving £1740 (twice) and £1500 for E G Taylor & Partners of Rugeley.
Shorthorn breeding heifers sold to £1400, £1120 and £1110 for A F Wetters of New Mills.
Young Bulls
A 15-month-old Hereford bull sold to £1460 for D A Naylor of Glossop with other Hereford bulls to £1290 at 9 months old for G Goodall & Partners of Cubley.
A Simmental bull at 11 months of age sold to £1430 for J B Rowlinson of Gawsworth.
Shorthorn bulls at 7 and 8 months old achieved £1390 and £1370 for J B Beech of Sandbach.
Charolais bulls at 17 months old sold to £1230 for A F Wetters of New Mills.
Steers
264 steers were on offer with a top price of £2480 being achieved for a Limousin at 25 months old for C A Lymer of Cheddleton with other Limousin achieving £2390 at 23 months of age for J L Mellor & Partners of Sutton and 16-month-old Limousin achieving £2320 for Alan Hayes and Family of Alstonefield.
Aberdeen Angus steers at 29 months old achieved £2430 for P W Massey of Snelson with another pair at 29 months from the same vendor achieving £2390. A pair at 27 months old achieved £2380 for P J Taylor of Rainow, a pair at 19 months sold to £2160 for A P Chaddock of Gillow Heath, a single at 25 months sold to £2150 for D M James of Biddulph and a pair at 17 months sold to £2140 for F H White of Shottle.
A trio of British Blue steers at 26 months old sold to £2310 for R A Beech of Longsdon with a single at 18 months old selling to £2150 for F H White of Shottle.
Three 18-month-old Hereford steers achieved £2140 for F H White of Shottle with a Welsh Black steer selling to £2010 at 25 months old for JP & BJ Wayne of Ible.
Younger cattle sold well with a 13-month-old Limousin achieving £2030 for B & B M Rowlinson of Bottomhouse who also had a trio of Limousin at 12 months old selling to £2000.
The overall average for steers was a very pleasing £1425.28
Heifers
A bunch of three 29-month-old Charolais heifers topped at £2360 for J S & A Whitehurst of Bramshall.
A 27-month-old Limousin sold to £2230 for C A Lymer of Cheddleton.
N G & P Sidebottom of Marple Bridge sold an Aberdeen Angus heifer at 23 months old to £2200 with a bunch of eight at 28 months old selling to £2170 for JS & A Whitehurst of Bramshall. A pair of 23-month-old Aberdeen Angus sold to £2070 for H Lomas & Son of Gawsworth and a single at 21 months old sold to £2060 for P Gibson of Mow Cop.
A British Blue heifer at 18 months old sold to £2080 for F H White of Shottle with a bunch of four at 27 months old selling to £2040 for JS & A Whitehurst of Bramshall and a single at 23 months old achieving £2000 for P Gibson of Mow Cop.
A 25-month-old Montbeliarde sold to £2050 for JS & A Whitehurst of Bramshall.
A 20-month-old Welsh Black sold to £1970 for F H White of Shottle and a Hereford at 28 months old sold to £1790 for Proctor Farming of Brown Edge.
The overall average for heifers was a pleasing £1301.14.
