Plenty of pigs on offer achieving a top price of 199p/kg for fat pigs
Over 1,000 head of sheep on offer with Spring Lambs to 392p/kg or £187.05/head, Hoggs to 350p/kg or £157.50/head and Ewes to £240/head
An excellent entry of calves with plenty of buyers around the ring, top price of the day was a British Blue bull, selling to £680 and a Blue heifer to £575

Top price of the day went to W E Turnock & Sons of Onecote for a 655kg Holstein cow, selling to 307p/kg to achieve a headage price of £2010.85. Another Holstein, weighing 575kg, sold to 298p/kg giving a headage price of £1713.50 for the same vendor.
H S & A Callwood of Knutsford sold a Holstein to 294p/kg, weighing 515kg, to produce a headage price of £1514.10 and a 765kg Holstein sold to 274p/kg for S J Hooley to achieve a top headage price of the day at £2096.10.

Another strong show of pigs with 137 forward, best gilts 190-200p, boars 160-170p, a lot more heavier plainer pigs forward particularly boars which are all well bid for albeit at a reduced price. Top price for fat 199p twice for Massie Farms & J&B Fentem.
Porkers well bid for with hog roast season coming into play with J&B Fentem selling to 198p x2, 189p.
Cutting pigs look well bid for selling to 199p for J&B Fentem who had others to 195p, 192p, 190p, 188p, 186p. C Hine sold to 190p, Roston Farms to 173p for cracking boars.
Baconers sold well to 199p for Massie Farms who had others 192p, 191p x2, 189p, S Bailey to 194p, PF+PD Parsons to 194p, 192p, 188p, RP Thompson, Market Drayton to 192p, J&B Fentem to 190p, C Hine to 190p, 186p, JA&B Minshull to 185p.
Heavies sold to 178p or £206.48 for a cracking pietrain boar from Roston Farms who had others to 162p, 130p. R Stubbs to 151p, 137p, JA&B Minshull to 150p. PF+PD Parsons to 138p, JR Mosedale 130p.

Hot Trade at May Pedigree Sale
Top of £2800, Averaged £2173
One might have thought the continuing rain shortage would have hindered the dairy trade on Tuesday; however, nothing could have been further from the truth with milkers topping at £2800 and averaging £2173.
Regular vendors, Messrs Weston of Roston continued their successful streak taking top honours at £2800 with their Donte daughter. She was clinched by David Kennerley of Crewe.
Hot in pursuit was a very stylish heifer by Vogue from Ian Ellis of Ashover at £2720.
Andrew Stone of Elkstones saw his two heifers make £2640 and £2400, both to A Moseley of Cheddleton.
Cows topped at £2500 from D R & B A Cotton, Whiston, to L Neville of Tansley.
A smashing run of In-calf heifers from Richard Lomas of Calow peaked at £2380, with bullers from the Snowfern Herd of Messrs Fernihough reaching £1120.
Young dairy calves were a very strong trade reaching £430.
