Topping the barrens today was a 625kg Friesian cow which achieved 274p/kg to gross £1712.50 for DR & A Shuker & Sons of Bosley.
A Highland cow at 605kg sold to 2699/kg to gross £1627.45 for Broad Oak Farm of Bosley.
S J Hooley of Macclesfield sold a 740kg Shorthorn to 267p/kg to gross £1975.80, being the top gross price of the day and a 765kg Dairy Shorthorn to 258p/kg to gross £1973.70.

CLEAN
Limousin heifers topped at 348p/kg, weighing 585kg to top at £2035.80/head for AM & JE Kirby of Rutland who also had a 585kg Hereford to 328p/kg to gross £1918.80.
A 545kg Simmental steer topped at 318p/kg to gross £1733.10 for P Partington of Burton.
Overall average for clean cattle was 331.64p/kg.

A large show of pigs today with trade a bit less than last week, shop gilts to 197p with gilts generally 190p+ boars 160p – 170p. Sows sold to 89p.
Porkers sold to 190p for J&B Fentem, SL Seabridge sold to 190p.
Cutters sold to 193p for J&B Fentem, who had others at 192p, 190p. Boars to 170p for S Bailey.
Bacon pigs sold to 197p for PF+PD Parsons and Massie Farms. PF+PD Parsons sold to 192p. Massie Farms to 193p, 192p, 191p, 190p. C Hine to 192p.
Heavy pigs sold to 188p for B Minshull for a cracking pen of 106kg gilts. J&B Fentem had boars to 150p.

Pedigrees to £3850
Another electric trade in the dairy shed on Tuesday saw the pedigree entry top at £3850, twelve pass the £3000 mark, thirty over £2000 and all milkers average £2544.
Heading the day was a superb heifer from the Easom family of Oakerthorpe by Pine-Tree Gardner, she boasted an 85 point, 10,500kg dam, sold giving 37kg she was clinched by Andrew Hulme of Basford.
A lovely show of second calvers from the Mellor family of Earl Sterndale were much sought after, topping at £3550 with others to £3500, £3420 and £3020.
The Shepherd family of Bakewell saw their second calver to £3350.
A smashing run of heifers from Michael & Caroline Wainwright reached £3350.
Trade was swift throughout for all qualities and breeds.

A decent entry of lambs forward and trade much sharper on the week for what was generally a poorer show of lambs.
Best types at 340p/kg and better to top at 350p/kg or £192/head for heavies. Commercial quality lambs either side of 300p/kg depending on weight and finish.
Overall average at 309p/kg with a lot of under finished types in the entry.
