Beltex Sheep Society Show & Sale

Leek hosted the Beltex Society Show & Sale on Wednesday and a huge thank you to those who supported the sale this year.
We had an excellent show of stock on offer, and the show was kindly judged by Mr David Thornley of the Dooley Flock, Diseworth.
The Champion was awarded to Ian & Andrew Wainwright of Cupar, Fife with their Shearling Ram ‘Todhall Famous’ which sold for 1200gns to the Judge, David Thornley. They also sold another Shearling Ram ‘Todhall Figo’, sired by Callacrag Bullseye for 1200gns and ‘Todhall Fernando’, also sired by Bullseye sold for 1,000gns.
However, top price of the day being the Reserve Overall Champion and Female Champion showed by Tom & Jack Belfield of Sheen was their Shearling Ewe ‘Boothlow First Class’ which went on to sell for 2,250gns to Mr Ron Tomkinson, Butterton. The Belfield duo also sold a second shearling ewe ‘Boothlow Florida’ at 1,150gns.
New vendor, Brain Crane of Darwen, Lancashire showed an excellent run of Beltex rams at 850gns, 780gns, 750gns.
