Another very successful sale from Leek Auctions on behalf of the Derbyshire Texel Club, the sale was well supported by members of the club and a strong trade throughout.
The sale was proceeded by the show, which was kindly judged by Mr Martin Millar of the Millars flock, and also very kindly sponsored by Carrs Billington. Full show results are listed below.
Supreme Champion was awarded to Boden & Davies for their Shearling Ewe, scanned for a single, and Sired by Garngour Craftsman, she sold for 1900gns to Frank Rushton, Pikehall. However, the top price of 1950gns was achieved for another Shearling ewe (Lot 23) from Boden & Davies, sired by Auldhouseburn Crackpot, and scanned in-lamb for a single, she went to A P Prince, Little Stretton and, Lot 21, sold for 1550gns sold to Callum Banks, Newcastle which was scanned in lamb for triplets.
Reserve Champion was awarded to Mike Turner of Ashbourne, for one of his Ewe Lambs, selling to 750gns, selling to Henry Wild, Chinley.
Other top prices of 1500gns for a superb Ewe Lamb from Ben Vernon, Marston Montgomery (Lot 34), which came 2nd in her class, went to Stephen Cobbald, Acton Hall, Suffolk.
