Another very successful sale from Leek Auctions on behalf of the Derbyshire Texel Club, adhering to the strict Covid guidelines, the sale was well supported by members of the club and a strong trade throughout.
The sale was proceeded by the show, which was kindly judged by Mr Paul Johnson of the Corriecravie flock, and also very kindly sponsored by Carrs Billington. Full show results are listed below.
Supreme Champion was awarded to Boden & Davies for their Shearling Ewe, scanned for twins, and sired to Alabama which has previously bred Rams to £100,000. She went on to sell for 2,300gns to A T Turner, Bwlch Y Ffridd.
Reserve Champion was awarded to Mike Turner of Ashbourne, for one of his Ewe Lambs, selling to 1,110gns and sold to Eamon Vaughan of Partridge Nest flock.
However, top price was awarded to an outstanding ewe lamb from Mike Turner, to realise 3,100gns, purchased by Ben Vernon, Marston Montgomery.
