Over 1,000 head of sheep on offer with a strong trade throughout, lambs topping at 451p/kg and ewes to a £385

More calves on offer this week with trade remaining strong, British Blue bulls to £800 and heifers to £590

Barrens to 250p/kg, seeing good averages and a top headage price of £1451.58

Pigs to 193p/kg with a top headage price of £226.73

Top prices down a touch on the week but averages remaining strong, plenty of buyers at ringside with more Barrens needed weekly to satisfy the demand.

Top price was 250p/kg for a 530kg Holstein to gross £1325 for R, E & D R Bennett of Whiston.

A Norwegian Red weighing 625kg sold to 245p/kg to gross £1531.25 for Foker Grange Farm Ltd of Leek.

A bumper entry of pigs with a mixed show of quality sold to a competitive trade although less than last week’s flyer as expected. Top price 193p for Massie Farms.

Cutters sold to 186p for G Weston who had others to 182p, 150p. PF+PD Parsons sold to 180p. J&B Fentem to 171p. DB Goldstraw to 150p.

Heifers to £1920

A mixed Quality forward on Tuesday for milkers met a mixed trade with heifers peaking at £1920 for a 27kg heifer from Ron Tomkinson of Butterton.

More numbers expected next week with six fresh heifers from one home and three second calvers and heifers from another.

Overall average at 364p/kg SQQ or £162/head.

A strong crowd gathered for the produce today with
2025 Crop Conventional bales of Hay selling to £6.20 per bale, an increase of 90p per bale on the week.
2024 6 string barn stored hay to £64.50 per bale, an increase of £12.50 per bale on the week.
