Big numbers in the calves today with 144 on offer, topping the bulls was a British Blue at £465 with a British Blue also topping the heifers at £335
147 Dairies on offer comprising of a herd sale that topped at £1860 for a fourth calver and the commercial entry topping at £2540 for a Montbeliarde X heifer
Another good entry in the pig shed which sold on a fast trade with 128 on offer seeing fat pigs sell up to 236p/kg

Top price of the day was 230p/kg for a 580kg Charolais from S Kidd Farmers of Longnor with a 635kg British Blue cow, from new vendor RD Shaw, selling for 195p/kg and a 625kg Hereford cow, from John & Jill Housley of Grindon, selling to 194p/kg.

HEIFERS TO £2540
A tremendous entry of milkers including the herd dispersal on behalf of the Kennerley family met a swift trade with plenty of purchasers for all qualities.
Topping the day at £2540 was a smashing Montbeliarde X heifer from the Ellis family of Ashover giving 34.2kg.
A sweet heifer from Martin Riley of Newtown reached £2320.
Milky cows were much sought after with a Montbeliarde X fourth calver from Mick and Kay Hulse reaching £2180.
The herd sale of New Zealand Friesians attracted a great crowd topping at £1860 for a fresh fourth calver.
Bulling heifers from Messrs Darwin peaked at £925.
