Barrens to 269p/kg for a Monbeliarde cow to £1977.15/head with clean cattle to 360p/kg for a Limousin heifer.
A good show of pigs on offer, selling to 220p/kg for gilts.

A Montbeliarde topped the barrens this week at 269p/kg to gross £1977.15 for Brian Goodwin of Upper Hulme and close behind at 264p/kg, grossing £1518 was a Limousin cow from KL Potts of Mottram St Andrew.

A Limousin steer weighing 395kg sold to 280p/kg to gross £1106 for K L Potts of Macclesfield.
A Dexter steer weighing 285kg sold to 219p/kg to gross £624.15 for D Littleton of Norton Green who also had a Dexter bull weighing 300kg selling to 199p/kg to gross £597.
Three Friesian bulls weighing 640kg, 580kg and 625kg sold to 331p/kg, 328p/kg and 326p/kg to gross £2118.40, £1902.40 and £2037.50 respectively for J E Archer & Sons of Hilton.
Overall average for clean cattle was 314.09/kg.

A very hot trade for milkers saw a top of £3000 and virtually all the entry past the £2000
Top call at £3000 went to an upstanding heifer from David Brailsford of Alton, Chesterfield. Close behind at £2950 twice over were two heifers from Michael Wainwright of Buxton.
A heifer from the Wain family of Ible also reached £2950.

A reduced entry following a busy Ram sale sold on a much-increased trade, some 20p or so up on the week. SQQ levelling at 320p and including plenty of grass-fed lambs.

More best fed lambs could be sold each week to vendor’s advantage.
