Another busy market with vendors and buyers in attendance from a wide area.
Store Lambs
There were 5,879 store lambs with a very fast trade throughout, especially for the medium- and long-term lambs. The average was £115.11/head up £10 per head on the last sale.
Top price of store lambs was £160 for Texel ewe lambs from P & M Hayward & Sons of Cahpel en le Frith with others from the same vendor at £150 and £144.

Shearling rams sold particularly well to a top of £980 for A M Jones of Montgomery.
Other shearling rams sold to £580, £550, £520 and £480 (twice) with many more over the £300 mark for JB & SJB Bowdler of Wightwick who also had ram lambs to £300.
A Charollais shearling ram sold to £400 for R Wood, Bradnop, a Suffolk shearling ram sold to £360 for R J S Sherratt of Meerbrook.
A Suffolk ram sold to £380 for B Jones of Idridghay and a Charollais ram sold to £350 for R Wood of Bradnop.
Ewe Lambs (276) – Average £133.61
Mule ewe Lambs topped at £162 (twice) for R D & L Worthington of Edale with Texel also achieving £162 for D V Holland of Blore who had others to £157.
