A solid entry of 678 cattle were on offer on Saturday with plenty of buyers around the ring from a wide area.
Breeding Section
A smaller number of breeding cattle were on offer seeing a Friesian cow with an Aberdeen Angus male calf achieve £1710 for G B Millington of Wincle.
Suckler cows topped at £1890 for a Hereford for T J & M Groves of Brewood.
Aberdeen Angus breeding heifers sold to £1480 from Bernards Farm, Reapsmoor who also had another Aberdeen Angus to £1350.
A pair of Hereford heifers sold to £1330 and £1320 for ES Bennison of Stockport.
Young Bulls
A 17-month-old Limousin sold to £1580 for R Watson of Frodsham and a pair of 16-month-old Aberdeen Angus achieved £1320 from Roston Farm Ltd of Roston.
Steers
A total of 379 steers were on offer with a top price of £2480 for a Shorthorn at 30 months for R & J Shore of Biddulph.
British Blue steers at 22 months old topped at £2290 for a pair for G R Simcock of Endon, a bunch of three sold to £2280 at 19 months for F H White of Belper and a bunch of five at 23 months old sold to £2275 for CC & CJ Lovatt of Belper.
Aberdeen Angus at 19 months old sold to £2230 for F H White of Belper, a pair at 25 months sold to £2200 for J R & S Bloor of Crewe, a single 18-month-old sold to £2200 for Adam Shaw of Sturston and a single at 20 months old sold to £2190 for A P wain of Forsbrook.
A bunch of three 18-month-old Limousin steers achieved £2085 for DH & J Lovatt of Rushton Spencer.
Hereford steers at 25 months old sold to £2040 for C P Tomlinson of Longsdon, a 30-month-old Hereford sold to £2020 for W G Galley of Meerbrook and a pair of 25-month-old Hereford sold to £2010 for JR & S Bloor of Crewe.
A Single South Devon at 16 months old sold to £1995 for J F Barber of Quarnford.
Holstein at 26 months old achieved £1920 for CC & CJ Lovatt of Macclesfield.
A bunch of three Charolais steers at 18 months old sold to £1785 for S Kidd of Quarnford.
In the younger cattle, a pair of 13-month-old Limousin sold to £1665 for B & BM Rowlinson of Bottomhouse, who also had a 13-month-old Aberdeen Angus achieve £1630 and an 11-month-old Limousin achieved £1600 for FW & JF Brookes of Crakemarsh.
The overall average for steers was a very pleasing £1323.18.
Heifers
275 heifers were on offer with a top price of £2270 being achieved for a 32-month-old Shorthorn from R & J Shore of Biddulph.
Aberdeen Angus at 18 months old sold to £2100 for N M Murphy of Chell Heath with a 22-month-old Aberdeen Angus selling to £1900 for BJ & BW Brunt & Sons of Wincle who also had a bunch of four Aberdeen Angus at 22 months old selling to £1800.
A 27-month-old Limousin sold to £2080 for R & J Shore of Biddulph with an 18-month-old Limousin achieving £1800 for D H & J Lovatt of Rushton Spencer.
A bunch of four British Blue heifers at 23 months old achieved ££2060 for GS, KM & PL Eyre of Tean, a pair at 22 months sold to £1990 for BJ & BW Brunt & Sons of Wincle and F H White of Belper had a pair at 19 months to £1990, a bunch of three at 19 months to £1980 and a bunch of seven at 24 months to £1970.
A 23-month-old Simmental at 23 months sold to £1800 for FG, JM & TE Carnwell of Dilhorne.
A 17-month-old South Devon sold to £1780 for J F Barber of Quarnford.
A pair of Hereford heifers at 22 and 25 months old sold to £1770 for J R & S Bloor of Crewe.
Younger cattle sold to £1370 for a pair of 14-month-old British Blue heifers for RJB Contractors, a 14-month-old Aberdeen Angus sold to £1265 for SC, FE & JA Harvey of Waterfall.
The overall average for heifers was £1202.41.
