There were 549 Store & Breeding Cattle seen and sold on Saturday with plenty of buyers around the ring ensuring that all cattle were keenly bid for.
Breeding Section
A few less on offer in the breeders today with an Aberdeen Angus suckler cow achieving £1685 for K & M Ede & Son of Checkley who also had a Hereford suckler cow to £1565 and Longhorn suckler cow to £1335.
British Blue breeding cows sold to £1590 for D Barber of Ashbourne who also had a Hereford cow to £1510 and two Limousin cows to £1300 and £1170.
Stock Bulls
A Pedigree Beef Shorthorn Bull sold to £2600 for GG Hall & Son of Croxden.

Young Bulls
Young bulls saw a good trade with an 18-month-old Limousin achieving £1890 for A Millward of Dilhorne, a 10-month-old Hereford sold to £1285 for GW & RI Mellor & Son of Dilhorne who also had a pair of 12-month-old British Blue bulls at £1265.
A 15-month-old Aberdeen Angus bull sold to £1235 for T B Thornley of Stanton.
Steers
296 Steers were on offer with a Charolais at 23 months old topping the day at £2440 for S Ollerenshaw of Bradwell who also had a bunch of four at 23 months old achieving £2350 and a bunch of four at 20 months old selling to £2200. R Worthington of Edale had Charolais at 20 months old selling to £2380 with another at 23 months old achieving £2290 from the same vendor.
A pair of British Blue steers at 20 months old sold to £2380 from R W Adams & Son of Market Drayton with another pair at 16 months old achieving £2360 from the same vendor. A 22-month-old British Blue sold to £2200 for S Machin of Stanley.
A pair of 21-month-old Limousin sold to £2290 for C A Lymer of Cheddleton with an 18-month-old Limousin achieving £2270 for JW & R Massey & Partners of Gawsworth and J M Robinson of Swythamley sold a 14 month old Limousin to £2260, a 16 month old to £2180 a pair at 15 months old to £2160 with a pair at 22 months old selling to £2250 and £2230 from S Machin of Stanley.
Aberdeen Angus at 26 months old sold to £2280 for ME Pepper of Apedale.
Hereford steers at 21 months old sold to £2200 for J, CA & DN Tomlinson of Ford with another Hereford at 21 months old achieving £2160 for I Hollis of Shobnall who also had a 24-month-old Flekvieh to £2160 and a 24-month-old Montbeliarde to £2110.
Younger cattle sold well with a 10-month-old Charolais achieving £2340 from E Vaughan & Sons of Newcastle and 13-month-old Simmental achieving £1950 from J M Robinson of Swythamley.
The overall average for steers was a very pleasing £1444.88.

Heifers
A trio of British Blue heifers at 21 months old achieved £1980 from A & L Worthington of Knutsford with a bunch of four at £1890 selling to £1890 for GS, KM & POL Eyre of Tean.
A 21-month-old Charolais achieved £1960 for R Worthington of Edale.
A pair of Aberdeen Angus heifers at 23 months old sold to £1945 for JW & HL Nash of Newborough. Who also had a pair at 20 months old to £1925. S Machin from Stanley had a pair at 24 months old to £1935.
A pair of 19-month-old Limousin achieved £1935 for GW & MA Hicklin of Onecote, a 15-month-old Limousin sold to £1930 for J M Robinson of Swythamley, Limousin at 22-months-old sold to £1890 for S Machin of Stanley and JW & R Massey had a 22-month-old Limousin to £1890 also.
A 21-month-old Simmental heifer achieved £1890 for T W Carnwell & Sons of Kingsley Moor and a 16-month-old Simmental sold to £1880 for J M Robinson of Swyhtamley.
A trio of Herefords at 27 months old to £1860 for L A J Turner & Son of Rownall with a 20-month-old Hereford achieving £1830 for A & L Worthington of Knutsford.
A pair of 29-month-old Shorthorn achieved £1680 for PE Southwell of Uttoxeter.
Younger cattle sold to £1790 for a 10-month-old Limousin from RA & CW Bentley of Church Broughton and a bunch of four 14-month-old British Blue heifers achieved £1635 for JJ & WE Bower of Hyde.
The overall average for heifers was a £1301.61.
