A total of 550 store cattle were on offer with an excellent show of cattle and buyers in attendance from a wide area including mid and north Wales and all over the Midlands.
Breeding Section
A decent Simmental heifer with a Limousin heifer calf at foot from June Sherratt of Meerbrook exchanged hands at £2700, a Hereford cow with an Aberdeen Angus steer calf, from P J Taylor of Rainow, achieved £2610 and a third outfit, again from P J Taylor, sold to £2410.
Stock Bulls
A 40-month-old Pedigree Hereford bull from John Salmon of Werrington achieved £2320 and a 29-month-old Aberdeen Angus from W K Hurley of Macclesfield Forest sold to £1680.
Young Bulls
A bigger entry of young bulls with a good shaped Simmental bull from David Naylor of Glossop topping at £2240 with a 14-month-old Limousin bull from J E Butler of Bagnall selling to £2020.
Other bulls for D Naylor of Glossop sold up to £1760 for a British Blue at 17 months old. £1720 for a Shorthorn at 25 months old from S P Tomlinson of Denford and £1600 for a 23-month-old Aberdeen Angus from the same vendor. Hereford bulls for DA Naylor topped at £1570 at 17 months old.
Younger bulls for J A Clowes & Sons of Cubley at 10 months old achieved up to £1380 for a bunch of four Limousin and an Aberdeen Angus at 9 months old sold to £1350 for S M Clulow of Reapsmoor.
Steers
248 steers were on offer with plenty of strong cattle on offer, topping at £2500 for a 22-month-old Charolais from K W Dakin of Macclesfield with another at 21 months selling to £2300 from the same vendor. A bunch of three 24-month-old Charolais sold to £2300 from J Gilman & Partners of Bosley.
Aberdeen Angus steers were once again in strong demand with the top price being £2430 at 22 months old for CC & CJ Lovatt of Rushton and a bunch of four at 21 months old sold to £2330 for C Heath & Sons of Longsdon.
British Blue steers from D & D Gould of Waterhouses achieved £2280at 21 months old, a bunch of four at 22 months old sold to £2250 for Ian Forrester of Trent Vale and another bunch of three at 21 months oold sold to £2200 for R & H Bates & Sons of Marton.
Three Hereford steers at 23 months old sold to £2150 for J Gilman & Partners of Bosley and a pair of 21-month-old Hereford steers sold to £2090 for Ian Forrester of Trent Vale.
A 25-month-old Flekvieh steer sold to £2080 for T J Hargreaves of Gratton.
Limousin steers at 14 months old sold to £1970 from Messrs Nicholls of Dayhills.
A bunch of four Simmental steers at 16 months were well sold to £1970 for G R Simcock of Endon.
Dairy Shorthorn sold up to £1920 at 25 months old for J Gilman & Partners of Bosley.

Heifers
244 heifers were on offer with a top price of £2130 for a bunch of four Aberdeen Angus from C Heath & Sons of Longsdon with another bunch of four selling to £2060 from the same vendor.
Three British Blue heifers at 22 months sold to £2090 for R & H Bates & Sons of Marton.
22-month-old Limousin heifers sold to £2080 for CC & CJ Lovatt of Rushton.
Charolais at 25 months old sold to £2070 for S Kidd Farmers of Longnor with a bunch of four well shaped 17-month-old Charolais selling to £2010 for C & EJ Whilock of Werrington.
A pair of 16-month-old Shorthorn heifers achieved £1910 for AS Agriculture of Moddershall.
Hereford heifers at 21 months old topped at £1860 at for the Wilson Family of Hollington.
A bunch of three 22-month-old Simmental sold to £1850 for T W Carnwell of Kingsley Moor.
A 29-month-old Montbeliarde heifer sold to £1800 for the Critchlow Bros of Sheen.
A 15-month-old Blonde sold to £1790 for J Mansfield & Son of Ashby de la Zouche.
In the top shed, British Blue heifers at 12 months old sold to £1440 for Mollatt Partnership of Field, Shorthorn at 13 months sold to £1370 for GW & MA Platt & Son of North Rode, 14-month-old British Blue sold to £1470 for C Armstrong of Church Lawton and a bunch of four Limousin sold to £1360 for G Beeston of Eccleshall.
The overall average for heifers was £1563.
