A total entry of 492 of Store cattle were on offer with yet another good strong trade throughout.
Young Bulls
Young bulls were particularly well sold seeing top prices of £1510 for an 11 month old Limousin bull from Tony Sayer of Hilderstone. £1195 for a 19 month old Limousin from Miss Henshall of Bosley with a 7 month old Limousin from John Bradbury of Ipstones at £1190 with a bunch of 5, similar aged bulls from the same vendor at £1080.
Belted Galloway young bulls sold up to £395 from S Wilde of Quarnford.
Steers
There were 272 steers on offer with top price of the day being £1600 for a pair of 21 month old Limousins from Robert and Andy Williamson of Wetley Rocks with a bunch of 4, from Peter Richardson of Ipstones at 21 months of age also selling for £1525 and a single from David Curtis and Family at £1480 and another from the same vendor of similar age at £1435 and one from Williamson Brothers at 24 months of age at £1400. Mrs F Swindells of Bosley sold a 21 month old bunch of 4 Limousins for £1390.
Montbeliard steers at 31 months of age from Birchwood Park Farms sold well up to £1385 with another 28 month old Montbeliard steer from Mr Edge selling for £1345 and a 22 month old Holstein from Tom Allen of Foxt at £1330.
Aberdeen Angus steers from Royson Pepper of Newcastle at 21 months of age were well sold at £1360 with British Blue steers from Messrs Challinor of Dilhorne at 22 months of age at £1340 and a pair of 21 month old Simmentals from A & L Worthington at £1270.
A single Simmental steer at 14 months of age from J M Robinson of Swythamley was well sold at £1250. Another bunch of 3, 21 month old Angus from Royston Pepper sold for £1245 with Saler steers at 22 months of age up to £1220 from F Swindells of Bosley.
Hereford steers from P B Enterprises at 19 months of age sold for £1055.
Younger cattle topped at £1100 for a pair of 11 month old Limousin steers from Andrew and Tim Carr of Waterfall with a 9 month old Limousin from GW & SM Pattinson of Weaver at £1025 and Limousin x steers from Millward and Turner of Grindon at £1020.
Overall average achieved was £792.04.
Heifers
There were 198 heifers on offer, with the top price being £1455 for a single 20 month old Limousin from Robert and Andy Williamson of Wetley Rocks with a bunch of 3, 23 month old Limousin from the same vendor at £1385 and a 25 month old Limousin from F Swindells of Bosley at £1375 and another bunch of 3, 23 month old Limousin at £1345 from Messrs Williamson.
A single 23 month old British Blue heifer from David Curtis and Family of Basford sold for £1330 with Montebeliard heifers at 44 months of age from Birchwood Park Farms selling particularly well for £1265 and Angus heifers up to £1245 for a 22 month old from Royson Pepper of Newcastle with Charolais up to £1245 from F Swindells of Bosley and also £1245 for a 23 month old Hereford from the same vendor. The same farmer had a 22 months of age Simmental heifer at £1240 and a Saler heifer at 22 months of age at £1235.
A bunch of 6, British Blue heifers at 18 months of age achieved £1210 from A Mitchell & Sons of Knutsford with younger cattle up to £850 for a bunch of 5, 10 month old heifers from GW & SM Pattinson of Weaver with another Limousin at 10 months of age from Millward & Turner of Grindon at £800.
Overall average achieved for heifers was £839.44.
