A total of 360 Store and Breeding Cattle were on offer this week with some excellent top prices achieved throughout.
Breeding Section
An Aberdeen Angus cow with a Simmental heifer calf sold to £2600 for Pilkington Farmers of Hartington who also had another similar outfit, with a steer calf to £2540.
A Meusse Rhine Issel suckler cow sold to £1720 for PJ Taylor of Macclesfield who also had a Hereford suckler cow to £1660.
A Friesian breeding heifer sold to £1400 for DJ Gregory of Drointon.
Young Bulls
An 8-month-old Limousin bull achieved £1760 for A Sayer of Stone with another pair of Limousin bulls at 9 months old selling to £1575 for HJ & JH Ryan & Sons of Millington.
The overall average for young bulls was a very pleasing £1303.75.
Steers
There were 213 steers on offer this week seeing a top price of £2370 twice.
A 33-month-old Aberdeen Angus steer sold to £2370 for DJ Edge of Lach Dennis with a 21-month-old Aberdeen Angus achieving £2220 for R Hall & Sons of Croxden and an 18-month-old Aberdeen Angus sold to £1980 for RJ Heatley & SL Bourne of Dilhorne.

A 24-month-old Limousin was the other steer to reach £2370 for CA Lymer of Cheddleton, who also had a bunch of three Limousin at 20 months, selling to £2180 with a 19-month-old Limousin achieving £2280 for Croft Farm of Shenstone who also had another pair of Limousin at 15 months old to £2060.

A Simmental at 28 months old sold to £2300 for G Bailey of Rushton Spencer with another at 29 months old selling to £1960 for H & R Nash of Marchington.
A 20-month-old Hereford sold to £2250 for R Hall & Sons of Croxden with another at 19 months old selling to £2040 and a bunch of four at 20 months old selling to £1950 for the same vendor. A 32-month-old Hereford sold to £2200 for DJ Edge of Lach Dennis who had another pair at 24 months old to £1920 and a 29-month-old Hereford sold to £2000 for M Tidmarsh of Wetley Rocks.
Charolais at 19 and 21 months old sold to £2180 and £2140 respectively for R Hall & Sons of Croxden.
An 18-month-old Flekvieh steer sold to £2020 for R Hall & Sons of Croxden.
A 31-month-old British Blue sold to £1990 for H & R Nash of Marchington.
A Longhorn steer at 21 months old sold to £1890 for RW Potter & Co of Yeaveley.
A bunch of three 35-month-old Friesian steers sold to £1860 for CE Hine of Biddulph and a 25-month-old Holstein steer achieved £1780 from DM James of Mowcop.
Younger cattle sold particularly well again with a 13-month-old Limousin achieving £1935 for R Lyon of Doveridge, a 13-month-old Aberdeen Angus sold to £1720 for RJ Heatley & SL Bourne of Dilhorne, a pair of 13-month-old Simmental sold to £1685 for JB Rowlinson & Son of Gawsworth and a 9-month-old Charolais achieved £1680 for Waller Farms of Sutton.

The overall average for steers was a £1476.64.
Heifers
Topping the 131 heifers on offer was a 25-month-old Aberdeen Angus which sold to £2010 for H Lomas & Son of Gawsworth who had another pair at 25 months old achieving £1940 and a trio at 27 months achieved £1890 for A Beech of Milton.
A 28-month-old British Blue sold to £1970 for H & R Nash of Marchington and a 20-month-old Limousin sold to £1910 for CA Lymer of Cheddleton.
A pair of 27-month-old Hereford heifers sold to £1850 for A Beech of Milton and a pair of 28-month-old Simmental sold to £1790 for H & R Nash of Marchington.
A pair of 27-month-old Welsh Black achieved £1775 for Pilkington Farmers of Hartington and a trio of 19-month-old Charolais sold to £1745 for the same vendor.
In the younger cattle, 13-month-old Limousin sold to £1880 for Pilkington Farmers of Hartington who also had a pair of 14-month-old Simmental to £1740.
The overall average for heifers was £1311.53.
