A total of 617 Store & Breeding Cattle were on offer with a top price of £2450 being achieved for an Aberdeen Angus steer.
Breeding Section
A small entry in the breeding cattle this week with Roy Critchlow of Flash seeing three White Park cows with male calves selling to £1540, £1440 and £1360.
Young Bulls
A 13-month-old Limousin bull topped at £1740 for D Edgecox of Onecote closely followed by another Limousin at 18 months old which achieved £1640 for AS & EL Heathcote of Rainow.
Overall average of young bulls was £817.86.
Steers
A total of 356 steers were on offer this week with Aberdeen Angus being on fire! At the top at £2450 was an Aberdeen Angus at 27 months old for FE Whittaker & Sons of Bosley, this was closely followed by another Aberdeen Angus at 22 months old which achieved £2400 for R & H Bates & Sons of Marton.

The overall average for Aberdeen Angus was a very pleasing £1746.11!
Three British Blue steers at 24 months old sold to £2220 for D J Edge of Lach Dennis with a single at 24 months old achieving £2000 for LA & MA Done & Son of Bosley who had another three at 23 and 24 months old to £1980.
A trio of 17-month-old Simmental steers sold to £2130, £2110 and £2080 for Adam Shaw of Sturston with a pair at 20 months old selling to £1970 for J Swindells of Leek.
J Swindells of Leek had a 22-month-old Limousin to £2100 with another bunch of three at 21 months achieving £2080 for the same vendor.
A trio of 18-month-old Charolais achieved £2070 for SE & AR Buxton of Sudbury with another two at 17 months old to £1970 for the same vendor.
A 25-month-old Hereford sold to £1960 for D Swinson of Rushton with a bunch of five at 17 months old achieving £1950 for PJ & PA Mitchell of Fradswell and a bunch of five at 21 months old selling to £1950 for Barnslee, Rushton.
A pair of 21-month-old INRA95 sold to £1940 for J Swindells of Leek.
The overall average for steers was a very pleasing £1520.87
Heifers
There were 226 heifers on offer with a pair of 25-month-old Limousin storming away to £2300 for J Jervis of Cheadle with another pair at 25 months old selling to £2000 for the same vendor.
A 24-month-old Simmental sold to £2050 for LA & MA Done & Son of Bosley with a pair at 23 months to £1960 for RF & JM Hubbart of Hilderstone.
A 22-month-old Wagyu heifer sold to £2010 for P Brown of Bagnall.
A bunch of three 23-month-old Aberdeen Angus sold to £1930 for R & H Bates & Sons of Martonwith another bunch of three at 29 months old selling to £1910 for Joseph Torr Ltd of Macclesfield.
Four Shorthorn heifers at 25 months old sold to £1920 for P Southwell of Uttoxeter.
An 18-month-old British Blue heifer sold to £1830 for N M Murphy of Chell Heath.
The overall average for heifers was £1460, an increase on a fortnight ago of £114.50!
