A small entry of Breeding Cattle on offer with a British Blue Cow for DJ Gregory of Drointon, PD’p in-calf to British Blue (4 ½ months), selling for £1160 and its 13-month-old calf sold to £805, grossing £1965 for the outfit.
An in-calf Aberdeen Angus heifer, for Grassland Farming of Buxton, achieved £1030.
Steers
Steers topped at £1915 for a pair of Simmental steers for A & L Worthington, with another pair from the same vendor at £1730.
Aberdeen Angus, steers at 20 months old, for Birchwood Park Farm, sold to £1395 with Mrs N Salt of Waterhouses achieving £1295 for Aberdeen Angus steers.
A pair of Longhorn steers, for T Tabener of Bell House Lane, sold for £1330 with Hereford Steers at 19 months old, for Red Lion Farm of Dayhills, selling for £1305 and Montbeliarde steers, at 19 months old, sold to £1300 for Birchwood Park Farm. H Salt of Denstone also sold Longhorn steers, at 16 months old, achieving £1260
Shorthorn steers for B & KA Fallows, sold to £1150, with the same vendor selling 11- and 12-month-old Longhorn steers to £1130.
RJ & KA Salt of Rudyard sold 9-month-old British Blue steers to £1105, and FG Belfield sold 13 month old Hereford steers to £1000.
Heifers
11-month-old Charolais heifers were particularly well sold for Mick Reeves & Family of Ipstones at £1045 who also sold Shorthorn heifers at 10 and 11 months old for £860.
A pair of Hereford heifers for D & E Barlow of Warslow sold to £1205.
